Involved - Join a Committee!
The LGLA
Board has established
committees to carry out the mission of LGLA and offer an opportunity
to our members who want to become involved. If you are interested
in any of the following committees, please contact LGLA.
Program:
This committee is responsible for all programmatic
activities, including social and educational/CLE events such
as the Downtown Lawyers Luncheons and Westside Lawyers Luncheons.
Amicus:
This committee is responsible for identifying opportunities
for amicus filings and coordinating the drafting and filing
of such briefs as well as communication with other GLBT organizations
regarding such activities.
Judicial/Elective
Office: This committee is responsible for
evaluating and/or supporting qualified non-partisan candidates
for judicial or elective office.
Membership:
This committee is responsible for developing/implementing
ways to increase the membership totals and membership diversity
as well as facilitating membership applications and renewals.
Communications:
This committee is responsible for all communication
with members, including the monthly mailings and quarterly
newsletter as well as the website and directory.
Law
Students: This committee is responsible for
developing/implementing all activities related to the student
membership, including the student reception and other student
events, as well as coordinating the promotion of the annual
scholarship and facilitating the selection process.
Women:
This committee is responsible for developing/implementing
all efforts to increase the number and involvement of women
members as well as all activities related to the women membership,
including events such as the Women's Reception and Women's
Summer Bar-B-Que.
